Bergoglio to the Lutherans: “We too must … admit the mistake and ask for forgiveness”

A) The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

“«Abide in me as I abide in you» (Jn 15:4). These words, spoken by Jesus at the Last Supper, allow us to peer into the heart of Christ just before his ultimate sacrifice on the cross. We can feel his heart beating with love for us and his desire for the unity of all who believe in him. He tells us that he is the true vine and that we are the branches, that just as he is one with the Father, so we must be one with him if we wish to bear fruit…..
(…) We too must look with love and honesty at our past, recognizing error and seeking forgiveness, for God alone is our judge. We ought to recognize with the same honesty and love that our division distanced us from the primordial intuition of God’s people, who naturally yearn to be one, and that it was perpetuated historically by the powerful of this world rather than the faithful people, which always and everywhere needs to be guided surely and lovingly by its Good Shepherd. Certainly, there was a sincere will on the part of both sides to profess and uphold the true faith, but at the same time we realize that we closed in on ourselves out of fear or bias with regard to the faith which others profess with a different accent and language.
(…) The spiritual experience of Martin Luther challenges us to remember that apart from God we can do nothing. “How can I get a propitious God?” This is the question that haunted Luther. (…)” (Apostolic journey to Sweden, Common Ecumenical Prayer at the Lutheran cathedral of Lund, homily, Lund, 31 October 2016)

B) References to Scriptures:

Remain in me, as I in you. As a branch cannot bear fruit all by itself, unless it remains part of the vine, neither can you unless you remain in me.” (Joh 15:4)

C) Comment:

In his homily held in Lund, Bergoglio commemorates Luther and asks forgiveness to all the spiritual children of Luther, in the name and on behalf of all Christians who recognize Bergoglio as their pope.

In doing so, Bergoglio does nothing more than create more confusion in the church of Rome, already, in its interior, lacerated by deep inconsistencies, divisions and power struggles. Bergoglio makes a deeper rip than that of what 500 years ago Martin Luther did. Indeed, asking forgiveness to Luther and the Lutherans, Bergoglio lacerates the church of Rome from the inside, making a resounding gesture that contrasts with the formal act of Pope Leo X who had declared the heresy of Martin Luther.

But Bergoglio disunites, rather than uniting, the few Christians that want to remain authentic in the true faith and the true teachings of Christ. The very Word of Jesus (that Bergoglio subverts in Its true significance) condemns Bergoglio, his ministers and all those who, within the church of Rome, are still following him.

«Abide in me and I in you». This is the invitation of Christ, which then Luther and now Bergoglio have betrayed. Luther has disunited the Christians 500 years ago, trampling the sacrality of the Body of Christ. In our times, Bergoglio has betrayed the Christians with even greater severity, given that, in his role as head of the church of Rome, he has led those who recognize themselves in him into the Apostasy, that in the church of Rome is manifested.

God the Father betimes admonished and warned Christians of the impending danger, but His warnings have remained unheeded, so He has withdrawn His Holy Spirit from the church of Rome. The church of Rome, as a result, is no longer the mystical Body of Christ, but is now a false and extravagant church that no longer adores Christ, that no longer considers Christ as the only Saviour of the world, that no longer follows His authentic teachings.

On the contrary, the church of Rome is leading Christians into a false new world religion, founded on a false idea of ecumenism that draws away from Christ and considers all religions equal before God the Father. This deeply betrays the Plan of Salvation wanted by God for humanity, which is accomplished only in Christ and not in other religious philosophies. Only one is the true religion: the one that recognizes Christ as the only Saviour of the world and that is once again in the Church of Christ. Both Luther and Bergoglio have betrayed God the Father, arousing the wrath of God the Father, that is and will be felt by all humanity.
