The missionary Church does not proselytize

A)  The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

For the Church, to be missionary does not mean to proselytize: for the Church to be missionary means to give expression to her very nature, which is to receive God’s light and then to reflect it. This is her service. There is no other way” (Homily on the solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord, Vatican basilica wednesday, 6 January 2016)

B) References to Scriptures:

Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to the end of time” (Mat 28:19-20)

“And he said to them, ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned” (Mar 16:15-16)

C) Comment:

Proselytize means bringing the Word of Jesus to all nations so that people can believe in Him and thus find in Him, only in Him, salvation. This is the mission of Christians: to make know Christ and to make believe in Him, because only in Christ there is salvation (Jesus says so, several times). We are saved only in Christ, Saviour of the world. Outside of Christ there is no salvation. So the mission of Christians is to proselytise, to bring the message of the true Christian religion to all people, even to those who believe in other religious thoughts.

However, Bergoglio since forever says the opposite. He already said that the proselytism “is a solemn nonsense” (his own words). So, for Bergoglio, what Jesus said, what it is written in the Gospels, is nonsense (“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned“).

Who is saying nonsenses? Jesus or Bergoglio?
