The Cross is a scandal

A)  The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

«the cross is a scandal; another scandal is that God became man» “and so put it aside”” (Homily, Casa Santa Marta, June 9, 2015)

B) References to Scriptures:

But as for me, it is out of the question that I should boast at all, except of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal 6:14)

While the Jews demand miracles and the Greeks look for wisdom, we are preaching a crucified Christ: to the Jews an obstacle they cannot get over, to the gentiles foolishness, but to those who have been called, whether they are Jews or Greeks, a Christ who is both the power of God and the wisdom of God. God’s folly is wiser than human wisdom, and God’s weakness is stronger than human strength” (1Co 1:22-25)

C) Comment:

For Bergoglio, the Cross is not a source of pride, as St. Paul says and how all true Christians think and believe, for having made the Cross the symbol of their identity. For Bergoglio, the Cross is a scandal, just as the Jews had thought, they that put Jesus on the Cross.

The Holy Spirit is not in Bergoglio when he says that the Cross is a matter for outrage. St. Paul, animated by the Holy Spirit, says the exact opposite. Therefore, the Holy Spirit that was in St. Paul, is not the same spirit that is in Bergoglio, that is not holy.
