“The weakness of God: He loses His memory”
A) The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:
“Dear Brothers and Sisters, Good morning! (….) The parable that is most moving for everyone — because it manifests the infinite love of God — is that of the father who enfolds in a close embrace the son who has been found. What strikes us is not so much the sad story of a youth who falls into dissolute ways, but rather his decisive words, “I will arise and go to my father” (v. 18). The path to return home is the path of hope and new life. God always expects us to resume our journey, he awaits us with patience, he sees us when we are still a long way off, he runs to meet us, he embraces us, he kisses us, he forgives us. That is how God is. That is how our Father is. And his forgiveness cancels the past and regenerates us in love. Forgetting the past — this is God’s weakness. When he embraces us, he forgives us, and forgets it. He doesn’t remember. He forgets the past. When we sinners convert and let ourselves be re-encountered by God, reproach and sternness do not await us, because God saves, he welcomes us home again with joy and prepares a feast.” (Angelus, Saint Peter’s Square – 11 September 2016)
B) References to Scriptures:
“Then he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.’” (Luk 22:19)
“Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said, ‘When you count the Israelites by census, each one of them must pay Yahweh a ransom for his life, to avoid any incidence of plague among them while you are holding the census. You will take the ransom money of the Israelites and apply it to the service of the Tent of Meeting, for it to be a reminder of the Israelites before Yahweh, as the ransom for your lives.’ ” (Exo 30:11-12, 16)
“The upright is remembered with blessings, the name of the wicked rots away.” (Pro 10:7)
C) Comment:
Bergoglio’s doctrine has not any Christian foundations. In his indifferentist and totally humanized language, Bergoglio distorts the teaching of God and teaches a doctrine that has no basis in the Sacred Scripture. He distorts the true meaning of the Sacred Scripture, twists Its authentic meaning to lead the listener to a distorted understanding that does not conform to the teachings of Jesus.
But the sneaky and therefore misleading thing, is that Bergoglio doesn’t present his doctrine as his own but as the doctrine of Jesus. Bergoglio makes use of Jesus, of His authentic teachings to bring everyone to a new religion that is not founded on Jesus and His authentic teachings but on a thought coming from a spirit opposite to Christ.
The “memory” in the history of God, is a fundamental pillar of the action of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Memory is an essential element, both in Christian and human history. In fact, a man without memory, a people without memory is like a tree without roots that, therefore, is destined to fall.
Saying that God “has no memory” is a solemn blasphemy, and furthermore a solemn nonsense. For first Jesus Christ teaches us the value of memory, in relation to His Saving Sacrifice. Jesus took upon Himself all the sins of the world (which is quite different from saying, as Bergoglio has repeatedly said, that “Christ made himself sin“) and at the Last Supper He said: «Do this in remembrance of Me.» (Luk 22:19).
So Jesus celebrates and wants us to celebrate His Saving Sacrifice offered to redeem all the children of God from sin, that Christ, the Man‑God, has taken upon Himself.
Likewise, there are so many moments in the history of God where, in the Holy Scripture, the memory and the memoirs, are emphasized so that everyone may have memory, even in relation to mistakes made in the past, to not commit the same mistakes in the future.
God forgives the sinner that repents and converts but His memory is alive. God is alive and, like all the living beings, has full and complete memory of everything that concerns the Creation and the subsequent developments.
Only who does not know God or tries to not make Him known as He is, can make the statements made by Bergoglio, which in doing so, once again, reveals his devious attempt to present God as He really isn’t. But God, that is alive, will be manifested and Bergoglio, more and more, will experience the living presence of God in history. Then, he will have the memory.
