“The Devil … is the only one that we are sure is in Hell”

A)  The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

To the question of a girl scout:
“This is a question that we two wanted to ask: we had this question from a long time and finally we might have an answer. If God forgives everyone, why does Hell exist? And, then, a curiosity: in your opinion, what is Heaven like?”
Bergoglio answers:
“First a question that is very important, the one that you asked; as a nice scout you have made a good and difficult question. Now I ask too: God forgives all, or not? [Answer: Yes! He forgives all!] Because He is good … or not? [Yes! He’s good!] He is good. But, you know that there was a very proud angel, very proud; that was very intelligent. And he was envious of God, you know? He was envious of God. He wanted the place of God. And God wanted to forgive him, but he said: “I have no need for forgiveness, I’m sufficient unto myself!” This is Hell: to say to God: “You fend for yourself and I fend for myself”. No one sends you to Hell: you go there, because you choose to be there. Hell means wanting to get away from God because I do not want the love of God. This is Hell. Do you understand? It is an easy theology to explain, but it is this. The devil is in hell because he wanted so, he has never had a relationship with God. But if you are … think of a sinner: if you were a great sinner, with all the sins of the world, all; and then you are condemned to a death sentence; and when you’re there, you swear, insult and many things … And at the moment to go there, to the death penalty, when you are about to die, you look at the Sky and say: “Lord …!”. Then, where will you go, to Heaven or Hell? Loud … [To Heaven!] You’ll go to Heaven, because there was another who was a thief, but a big thief … He was crucified next to Jesus. And one of these two thieves insulted Jesus. He did not believe in Jesus; he endured the pain until death. But at some point, something has moved inside him and he said: “Lord, have mercy on me!”. And what did Jesus say? Do you remember what he said? “Today, this evening, you will be with me in Heaven”. Why? Because he said “remember of me”, “look at me”. To Hell will go only who says to God: “I do not need you, I fend for myself”, as the devil did, is the only one that we are sure is in Hell. Is this clear? Thank you for asking. But you seem a theologian!” (Visit to the parish of “Holy Mary, Mother of the Redeemer” in Tor Bella Monaca, Rome, March 8, 2015)

B) References to Scriptures:

One of the criminals hanging there abused him: ‘Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us as well.’ But the other spoke up and rebuked him. ‘Have you no fear of God at all?’ he said. ‘You got the same sentence as he did, but in our case we deserved it: we are paying for what we did. But this man has done nothing wrong.’ Then he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ He answered him, ‘In truth I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luk 23:39-43)

But anyone who is the downfall of one of these little ones who have faith, would be better thrown into the sea with a great millstone hung round his neck” (Mar 9:42)

Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over sea and land to make a single proselyte, and anyone who becomes one you make twice as fit for hell as you are” (Mat 23:15)

You serpents, brood of vipers, how can you escape being condemned to hell?” (Mat 23:33)

Someone said to him, ‘Sir, will there be only a few saved?’ He said to them, ‘Try your hardest to enter by the narrow door, because, I tell you, many will try to enter and will not succeed. ‘Once the master of the house has got up and locked the door, you may find yourself standing outside knocking on the door, saying, “Lord, open to us,” but he will answer, “I do not know where you come from.” Then you will start saying, “We once ate and drank in your company; you taught in our streets,” but he will reply, “I do not know where you come from; away from me, all evil doers!” ‘Then there will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrown out” (Luk 13:23-28)

C) Comment:

Bergoglio’s claims are doctrinally misleading and consequently deceive Christians regarding the fundamental theme of salvation. This is not a marginal theme: it is critical. Not understanding that salvation is not a gift of God, that it is not free but must be obtained with actions and with a holy behaviour, there will not be salvation.

This is the deception that Bergoglio’s doctrine palms us off. The deception does not appear in its evidence and for this reason is even more difficult, for many Christians, to intercept and unmask. But on this theme we gamble our salvation. Because who, thinking that God forgives regardless of the holy or evil behaviour; that God saves even those who, after doing wrong, living in sin, does not convert and does not ask for the forgiveness of the Father, is damned and will go to hell, where surely they meet satan and his children.

The example of this, is manifested on Golgotha, where the two thieves crucified with Jesus behave in the opposite way to each other. One insults Jesus, despite of his mistakes made in life, exacerbating his situation of sin towards the Father; the other, admitting his own mistakes committed in life, asks Jesus with all his heart to be forgiven. For this, Jesus confirms him that in the same day he would have been with Him in Heaven. Why does Jesus say this only to one and not to the other? Why did He not say: “Today you will both be with me in Paradise?”. Because one went to Heaven and the other did not. And what became of the other, the one who after sin (and of this we are sure due to the witness of the forgiven thief) added sin to sin by insulting and provoking the Son of God dying on the Cross? He went to hell.

Hell is not empty, unfortunately. Jesus, in His preaching, preannounces that “many” would not be saved and therefore would have been condemned, failing to pass through the narrow door (that leads to Paradise and so to salvation). So it would have been for many hypocritical priests, says Jesus, that would have ended in the fire of Gehenna, that is hell. And so it will be for many that abuse and scandalize the little ones that believe, Jesus says.

Who does not really repent for having committed sins and does not ask the Father for forgiveness with sincerity and humility, promising to change their own life, will not be saved but will be condemned in eternity and will perish in hell. This is the Truth of the Gospel, the only Truth that saves, revealed by Jesus, the Christ, that those who want to be saved must necessarily follow, abandoning the false teachings of Bergoglio, that are misleading and untrue.
