“proselytizing in the ecclesial field is sin”

A) The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

Personally, I believe that enthusiasm must shift towards common prayer and the works of mercy – work done together to help the sick, the poor, and the imprisoned,” – Pope Francis said – “To do something together is a high and effective form of dialogue.   I also think about education.  It is important to work together and not in a sectarian way. There is a policy we should have clear in every case: to proselytize in the ecclesial field is a sin. Benedict XVI told us that the Church does not grow for proselytism but for attraction. Proselytism is a sinful attitude. It would be like turning the Church into an organization. Talking, Praying, Working together: This is the way we should walk” (Interview with Pope Francis on the occasion of the apostolic journey to Sweden, La Civiltà Cattolica page 6, 28 October 2016)

B) References to Scriptures:

And he said to them, ‘Go out to the whole world; proclaim the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptised will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned.” (Mar 16:15-16)

Go, therefore, make disciples of all nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you… ” (Mat 28:19-20)

C) Comment:

Bergoglio is preparing to commemorate Luther and explicitly and clearly states that “proselytizing is sin”. Bergoglio does not speak as the head of Christianity but as the head of his new world religion. For authentic Christians, proselytizing is not a sin but a duty, because Jesus himself taught and commanded His disciples to proselytize. For true Christians, Bergoglio is certainly heretic. Already in the past, Bergoglio has repeatedly railed against proselytizing (cfr. “Proselytism is a solemn nonsense, it does not make sense … it’s not the truth; The missionary Church does not proselytize; the “shabbiness” of St. Peter and the mission to not proselytize).

Once again Bergoglio attacks the proselytism, which is a fundamental pillar of the Christian doctrine. Proselytism was taught by Jesus, when He commanded His Apostles to go and baptize all nations in His name, so that everyone might believe in Him, in Christ, in the Father’s envoy. And who would have agreed to be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit would have been saved. Those who would not have accepted to believe in the Son of God, would not. This is proselytism. Many saints and martyrs of Christianity even gave their lives to proselytize. Every Christian who believes in Christ has the duty to proselytize, to make Christ known and invite all to be baptized in His Name, to be saved.

Proselytize does not mean “to force” or “to obligate” anyone to believe in Christ. God the Father has given freedom, which must be respected by all. Then everyone will respond directly to the Father about how they used their granted freedom, whether or not to do well, to do what is holy and pleasing to the eyes and the Heart of the Father. But Christians have the duty to proselytize. It’s a duty taught by Jesus.

In fact, Christians who believe in Christ, the One the Father has sent to save the world, have the duty to proclaim Christ to the world, so that people may be saved. Only Christ saves. Christ, not Mohammed. Christ, not Buddha. Christ, not Judaism. Christ, not Hinduism. Christ, the Son of the living God, the One who gave Life to His Church, One, Holy and Universal, the Church of Christ, the Church which is animated by the Holy Spirit, that the Father has sent, and that, previously, had sent to another house, with whom He had stipulated His Covenant. But, the Father, because of the unfaithfulness of the ministers of that house (who have strayed from the true teachings of the Father and have denied the action of the Holy Spirit that in Christ is alive), has stipulated a new Covenant with another House, that loves His teachings, that puts them into practice and teaches everyone to love them and to enforce them.

Bergoglio, instead, distorts the authentic Christian doctrine and exploits also the thought of his predecessors (as now occurs for Benedict XVI), to lead Christians into another house, where Bergoglio and his associates teach a new doctrine, which is deeply opposed to the true Christian doctrine taught by the Master, Jesus.
