The “family wanted by God” and the free choice of the error
A) The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:
“There can be no confusion between the family desired by God and any other kind of union. With this same spiritual and pastoral attitude your work both in adjudicating and in contributing to permanent formation assists and promotes the opus veritatis. When by way of your service the Church claims to speak the truth of marriage in a particular case, for the good of the faithful, she always takes into consideration that many who live in an objective state of error, whether by free choice or other unhappy life circumstance, nonetheless continue to be recipients of the merciful love of Christ and hence of the Church herself” (Address to the officials of the tribunal of the roman rota for the inauguration of the judicial year- Clementine Hall Friday, 22 January 2016)
B) References to Scriptures:
“All you need say is “Yes” if you mean yes, “No” if you mean no; anything more than this comes from the Evil One” (Mat 5:37)
“The Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name, and his faithful love extends age after age to those who fear him” (Luk 1:49-50)
C) Comment:
Bergoglio shows his insubstantiality and his incoherence.
In his speech in front of the judges of the Roman Rota, first he says that marriage before God is different from other kinds of union; then, immediately after, says that even those who voluntarily (by free choice) live in a state of objective fault (examples of objective error are: cohabitation; the second or more marriages; homosexual unions) in any case will find the mercy of Christ and of the Church.
Here is revealed the insubstantiality of his message. Here is revealed the ambiguity of his message. Here is his wanting to appear both to be in line with the Christian doctrine and with himself, with what he always expresses regarding the family, from the “who am I to judge (gays)“, to the tolerance of the cohabitation, to the motu proprio that dramatically opens to the possibility of canceling the marriage, to the continuous recall to the mercy that God, because of His goodness, would however dispense, beyond the actual sinner’s will to sin no more.
Those who live by choice (and namely with conviction) a state of objective fault (and namely of sin), how can they receive the mercy of Christ and the Church, if they don’t repent and ask for forgiveness and don’t change life?
Jesus did not teach with ambiguity. Jesus did not say, and then “said the exact opposite”.
Jesus has always been coherent in His magisterium. And knowing the communicative tactics of the spirit of the enemy of God, Jesus warned everyone clearly, saying: “But let your speech be yes, yes, and no, no“. Then twice “yes” or twice “no”. Don’t firstly say a “yes” and right after a “no”. Because this way to communicate, to teach, is not from the Holy Spirit that is in Christ, but it comes from a not saint spirit that belongs to the enemy of God and to all his children and followers.
In his speech Bergoglio first says a “yes” (that marriage in God is different from other forms of union); then, immediately after, he says a “no” (that who even for free choice is in error, receives the mercy of Christ).
But this last statement is false and is equivalent to a “no”, because it is contrary to the Truth revealed by Jesus. The sinner, to receive mercy, must repent, ask forgiveness, and with all his will must sin no more. Bergoglio does not say this. He simply says that even those who, by free choice are in error, will receive Christ’s mercy. He does not say that one must change his life and come out from error and sin. But he says that mercy will come, however. So why should they change their lives, even if in error, if the Father forgives anyway?
Here is the deception from which Jesus warns. Here is the unmasking of who is guided by a spirit that is not holy, that first says and then “says the exact opposite “.
Here’s the wanting to always hide behind the word “mercy.”
Speaking of Mercy, St. Alphonsus Liguori wrote:
«In two ways the devil tries to deceive the man to make him lose his soul, after sin, he tempts him to despair with the rigor of divine justice, but before sinning encourages him to sin hoping in the divine mercy.
He makes much more slaughter of souls with this second deception than with the first. “God is of mercy”. Here is the answer of obstinate sinners to who invites them to convert. “God is of mercy.” But as the divine Mother sang: “His mercy is on those who fear Him (Luke 1, 50)” The Lord shows mercy to those who fear to offend Him, not to those who use His mercy to revile him more.
“God is of mercy”. God is Merciful, but He is also Just.
Sinners would want Him only merciful, but not just; but this is not possible, because if God would always forgive and never chastise, He would lack of justice»
(St. Alphonsus, from the Way of health, Abuse of God’s mercy).
The spirit that does not come from God will never prevail on the Spirit of God.
The spirit that does not come from God will never confuse the minds and hearts of God’s children, that will not let themselves be seduced by the siren song but will remain faithful to the authentic teachings of Christ and of His Friends.
This is the real Christian comeback, of who does not surrender but advances.
