“I am a sinner, I feel sinful, I’m sure to be so”
A) The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:
“«I am a sinner, I feel sinful, I’m sure to be so; I am a sinner to whom the Lord has looked at with mercy. As I said to the prisoners in Bolivia, I’m a man that has been forgiven. I am a forgiven man, God has looked upon me with compassion and forgiven me. Even now I make mistakes and sins, and I confess myself every fifteen or twenty days. And if I confess it’s because I need to feel that God’s mercy is still upon me»” (Bergoglio’s interview with the weekly “Credere”, December 2, 2015)
B) References to Scriptures:
“After a while Jesus met him in the Temple and said, ‘Now you are well again, do not sin any more, or something worse may happen to you.’” (Joh 5:14)
“‘Neither do I condemn you,’ said Jesus. ‘Go away, and from this moment sin no more.’” (Joh 8:11b)
“Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy” (Lev 19:2b)
C) Comment:
Jesus forgives so that the sinner, repented, does not mistake anymore and does not repeat the same mistakes, so that something worse does not happen to him, as the Gospel says. Once forgiven, he must sin no more.
No one wants to flaunt perfection. All are on the way. But the iron will to be holy, must be the constant companion to be able to fully live the Spirit of Christ.
The true Christian, once forgiven, must strive to sin no more. Bergoglio didn’t make it and is not able to sin no more. He confirms to be a sinner even after he has been forgiven. Who on earth should be the first example of holiness? “His Holiness”. Why is the pope called “His Holiness” or “Holy Father”? Because he should be the living example, for all, of who is not a sinner but that is holy on earth, following the invitation of God, the Lord, to be holy. So as Christ is holy, even the “vicar” of Christ, the one who is deputized for Christ on earth, should be holy and not, by his own admission, a sinner. But what should the Christian people think if who should give the first example of holiness is sure to be a sinner? That no one can be saint on earth, and that every effort to become saints is useless. But such reasoning contradicts the teaching of God, that instead says to the people: ‘Be holy, because I, the Lord your God, am holy”.
Therefore, Bergoglio’s teachings are not to be heard or followed, because who is in sin, is not in God’s grace and therefore the Holy Spirit does not dwell in him. So, if the Holy Spirit does not dwell in him, a different spirit is doing so, which cannot be holy.
Jesus taught by the Holy Spirit that was in Him and in Him there was no sin. There cannot be the Holy Spirit together with sin. Who is in sin does not possess the Holy Spirit but is animated by a not holy spirit, by the spirit of the evil one.
Therefore, if Bergoglio is sure to be a sinner, one can be sure that the Holy Spirit is not in him.
And who is sure to be a sinner, and does not convert and does not change life, for sure will go to hell.
