Christ crucified on the hammer and sickle is “protest art”

A)  The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

Question of Aura Vistas Miguel: Your Holiness, What did you think when you saw the hammer and sickle with the Christ on it, given to you by President Evo Morales? And where did this object end up?
Answer of J.M. Bergoglio: ….one could categorize it as a kind of protest art. For example, in Buenos Aires, some years ago, there was an exhibit of a good sculptor, creative, Argentinean, who is now dead. It was protest art, and I recall one piece, it was a crucified Christ on a bomber that was falling down. It was a criticism of Christianity allied with imperialism, represented by the bomber…… I would qualify it as protest art, which in some cases can be offensive, in some cases….. Now I’m taking this item with me, it comes with me” (In-flight press conference from Paraguay to Rome 13 July 2015)

B) References to Scriptures:

But as for me, it is out of the question that I should boast at all, except of the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal 6:14)

C) Comment:

Bergoglio, once again, despises the main sign that characterizes Christians: the Cross.

What ”art” is there in associating the hammer and sickle to Jesus? Only who despises the Cross can arrive to make similar statements.

The Cross is to be loved, to be defended and to be made known to all, as instrument of salvation and not as an object that can be offended and combined with anti-Christian symbols, that are rooted in anti-Christian cultures and movements.

Only an anti-Christic and bestial spirit can lead to welcome and define as a genre of art, who despises and allows to deride Christ and His saving sacrifice of the Cross.
