How can we understand the mercy taught by Bergoglio? Contemplating Judas

A) The text of the speech by J.M.Bergoglio:

“That is the principle, but human weakness exists, sins exist, and weakness does not always have the last word, sin does not have the last word; mercy has the last word! I like to tell the story – I don’t know if I have already told it, because I often repeat it – that in the Church of Saint Mary Magdalen in Vézelay there is a beautiful capital, from about the year 1200. In the Middle Ages the sculptures of the cathedrals were used for catechesis. On one side of the capital is Judas, hanging from the tree, his tongue sticking out and his eyes bulging, and on the other side is Jesus, the Good Shepherd, who takes him and carries him away. If we look carefully at Jesus’ face, Jesus’ lips are sad on the one side, but with compliant smile on the other. Those people understood what mercy is! With Judas! …(…) And don’t forget that capital in Vézelay: it is beautiful, very beautiful.” (in-flight press conference from Azerbaijan to Rome, 2 October 2016)

B) References to Scriptures:

The Son of man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will, but alas for that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Better for that man if he had never been born!’ Judas, who was to betray him, asked in his turn, ‘Not me, Rabbi, surely?’ Jesus answered, ‘It is you who say it.’ ” (Mat 26:24-25)

C) Comment:

At high altitude, Bergoglio always gives his best. In the sense that his thoughts and his spirit are more free to express and to be openly manifested. And so, from the high of the (terrestrial) skies, the spirit that animates Bergoglio threatens to push into the (eternal) abyss all those who accept the new doctrine of mercy taught by Bergoglio.

Therefore, those who follow Bergoglio’s teaching about mercy, that is opposite to the True Mercy taught by Jesus (see: The true and false mercy), seriously risk to land in the place where Judas resides for eternity.

Bergoglio suggests that watching Judas depicted in the artwork so dear to him, and looking at the “smile of complicity” of Jesus (as Bergoglio defines it), it would be understood how the mercy of Jesus would have worked towards Judas. Thus, following the reasoning of Bergoglio, Judas would have found mercy in Jesus. So Jesus would have saved him.

Once again, however, the Holy Spirit which is in Christ, contradicts the anti-Christian spirit which is in Bergoglio. If Bergoglio had been animated by the same Spirit of Jesus, he would not say the opposite of what Jesus has clearly said in the Gospel. About Judas, the Evangelist Matthew clearly reports the words that Jesus uttered at the Last Supper:“The Son of man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will, but alas for that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! Better for that man if he had never been born!’ Judas, who was to betray him, asked in his turn, ‘Not me, Rabbi, surely?’ Jesus answered, ‘It is you who say it.’ ” (Mat 26:24-25).

What does it mean to say that “Better for that man if he had never been born”? The meaning is that human being will neither inherit the Kingdom promised by the Father to His good and obedient children (Heaven), nor can he hope to be saved after a period of further penance (Purgatory). Consequently, for the Traitor of Jesus, as well as those who blaspheme the Holy Spirit (Mat 12:31-32), there can be no salvation but, Jesus says, there will only be “weeping and gnashing of teeth”. Then they will perish for eternity (Hell). And this is the real risk for those who surrender to the false mercy taught by Bergoglio, that is opposite to the original one taught by Jesus reported in the Gospels.
